Biggest Choke Since the Sir William Howe

By ExtraPointDJ | June 12th, 2010

How about the miracle goal by the United States this afternoon.  I never watch soccer.  I will not try to dazzle anyone with analysis.  However, I think I know enough about the sport to know a player that choked when I see it.  At least this big choke happened in a country that a little [...]

Two First Calls Left

By ExtraPointDJ | June 9th, 2010

Well, as many of you may know, Roger and I found out about a month ago that the morning show that we do on 590 The Fan would be ending….to be honest….I am not as disappointed as I thought I would be…my goal when I started this show nearly a year ago was to make it through the summer….then when [...]

Why The B-Squad Tony?

By ExtraPointDJ | May 16th, 2010

Tony LaRussa is a great manager.  He has won two World Series and will be in the Hall of Fame someday.  However, he makes some moves that are real head scratchers, and Sunday was one of those days.  The Cardinals are playing the Cincinnati Reds for 1st Place in the NL Central.  So, why have two of the [...]

Jaime Garcia Is Must See TV

By ExtraPointDJ | May 8th, 2010

I have scheduled my whole weekend watching the Cardinals game this Saturday night against the Pittsburgh Pirates.  Now, two things here.  How often is a game involving the Pittsburgh Pirates worth revolving your weekend around?  Second, how many times does the fifth starter going into the season become the most exciting guy to watch on the mound.  It [...]

The Marathon Game

By ExtraPointDJ | April 18th, 2010

How about the marathon game Saturday for the St. Louis Cardinals and New York Mets!  I only got to hear from the 13th inning on since the baseball team I coach had a tournament in Lebanon.  However, there are a number of observations I have from what I heard and the stats from the game.  [...]

Just got in from a great day of golf at The Falls Golf Club in O’Fallon, Missouri.  It is in great shape.  Now, I can watch some guys that actually know what they are doing with a club.  Here is a log of my thoughts while watching the drama unfold.
4:42 PM…Phil the risk-taker.  The shot he [...]

What a Friday!!

By ExtraPointDJ | April 10th, 2010

Isn’t it good to see another teams in the division have problems with their problem?  The game for the Cardinals Friday night was great in so many ways.  First of all, the Cardinals fell behind early, but they did not let the game get out of hand because of the great pitching by the bullpen, [...]

National Championship Game Log

By ExtraPointDJ | April 5th, 2010

Just got in from our second game of the season for baseball.  It was midway through the first half when I got the chance to relax and watch the game.  It has been a good one so far.  I think the game is living up to what Roger and I predicted on this morning’s show.  [...]

Final Four Saturday is always fun event.  I will log my thoughts as the games progress tonight.  Enjoy the analysis as the national championship game is determined.
5:08 PM…Butler should be able to do this again next year.  They have four underclassmen including three sophomores in their starting lineup.  The Bulldogs will be an easy preseason [...]

Big Event For St. Louis Starting Today

By ExtraPointDJ | April 2nd, 2010

Today, I am playing the World Series of Poker Circuit Event at Harrah’s.  This is a marquis event for the city.  During the days of the Missouri loss-limit laws, you would have to travel to Tunica or Las Vegas to take part in such a great event.
I completely expect a field of 500-600 people in [...]
